The title Doubt truth to be a liar is from Shakespeare's Hamlet. It’s a line from a letter that Hamlet writes to Ophelia. In the letter he compares his love for her to events that are impossible. The letter is read aloud in court and serves as confirmation that Hamlet has gone mad. I chose this title because it alludes to the irrelevance of reality in the face of passion, as well as the tension between emotion and logic.
